2008 is gonna be a THRILL RIDE!

In January, we were interviewed and photographed for an upcoming "Behind the Scenes" feature on Church of Girl and Church of Girl Records that will appear in the April edition of West Coast Performer Magazine.

And just this week, our beloved Swallows received an awesome review in the San Francisco Bay Guardian written by Theo Schell-Lambert.

Hi there,

Thank you for visiting us. We're busy as can be getting ready to release our very first CD, and truly... we couldn't be more excited about it. Swallows are a rare kind of band. Pure of intention. True of talent. We're biased, sure, but check it out for yourself and visit Swallows official website to hear samples from all five tracks on the CD.

And you know about the early connections, right? Well, a couple of years ago, in the Fall of 2005, Em Brownlowe learned about Church of Girl via MySpace and when she went to mail off a press kit, she discovered CoG Headquarters were just six streets away: ON THE SAME BLOCK. She sent an email to be sure I received the package she left at our mailbox, and invited us out for a drink with Jon. We met at Crush a couple of weeks later and hit it off right away. Plus, we learned that Jon & his boyfriend Paul were living in my former apartment building; in the very same apartment.

Without their encouragement and enthusiasm, Church of Girl Records would still be in the idea phase.
