Here they come!

Killola are Dan Grody (drums, vocals) Mike Ball (guitar, vocals) Johnny Dunn (bass guitar, vocals) and Lisa Rieffel (lead vocals). We admit to being in love with this band from the moment we put their first EP in the player. And what's not to love? Dan, Johnny, & Mike create tight, high-energy and totally killer rock arrangements. Lisa the live wire adds her powerful and contagious vocals that remind us of Dale Bozio and Gwen Stefani (to whom others have compared her) and the result is undeniably sexy and musically excellent rock ‘n’ roll.

Their latest CD, Louder, Louder officially released on January 24. The CD contains a secret track will make you SWEAR the song is a long lost rock anthem. Almost immediately, the album caught the ear of Dave Navarro, who picked Killola along with 5 other bands to appear on the premiere of his indie band of the month contest his internet radio station SpreadRadioLive. Killola asked for our help to get the word out about the contest. We responded with a MySpace announcement and blogpost ("5 bands 1 girl"). And Killola came out on top!!

Killola will be at Ruby Tuesdays (sponsored by Indie 103.1 and Filter Magazine) at The Key Club on April, 18 2006 followed by a gig on April 26th at the Pop Overthrow Festival in Chicago. Killola puts on a great live show and both events are free, so you can't go wrong. See, Listen, and support!!!

Los Angeles ROCK!

Lead singer Lisa Rieffel is a great vocalist and front woman. Her voice is sort of like a punk rock cupie doll – Dale Bozzio meets Linda Perry - but her dose of blues and grit make her a full-out powerhouse.

She rules the stage in true diva fashion, albeit a tantrum-throwing, dish breaking diva. It is easy to see why she was recently nominated for Best Female Rock Vocalist for the All Access Music Awards. The musical excellence of the band – Dan “D'Son" Grody (drums, vocals), Johnny Dunn (bass guitar, vocals), Timm Sharp and Mike Ball (lead guitar, vocals) – is the perfect foundation for the icing on this sexy cake.

The band has been playing out and about in LA at places like The Viper Room, Cat Club, and Knitting Factory. They opened for Rob Zombie on Halloween at the Key Club as well. People rave and rave about their live performances particularly the onstage antics of Lisa. The band is currently taking a break, but will be playing out again in the near future. We will anxiously await to see what comes next for Killola!
