Award Winning JAZZ artist!?!

Sara Gazarek is the first jazz vocalist to be featured as a Church of Girl Radio Star. Her voice is entrancing – warm, enveloping, and incredibly mature. Crediting influences as diverse as Ben Folds and Sara Vaughn, Sara Gazarek’s vocal style reminds us of jazz greats, Ella Fitzgerald and Dinah Washington.

A fellow Pacific North westerner, Sara left the Emerald City in 2003 to attend the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California. She won Downbeat Student Music Award for Outstanding Collegiate Jazz Vocalist and soon after, was invited to join the Concord Jazz festival tour with Diane Schurr, Karrin Allyson and Oleta Adams.

Sara is dedicated to inspiring students to pursue their dreams. While she was at USC, she had the opportunity to spend 2 years teaching a 15 person jazz choir of kids in 1st to 5th grade, and in fact, is a spokesperson for Music For All – a music education foundation.

She recently released her first CD, Yours, on native language and embarked on a cross-country tour. Check her website for national tour dates through October 19th.
