The Perfet Fit for Blackheart Records

The Dollyrots were founded by longtime friends, Kelly Ogden (bass + vocals) and Luis Cabezas (guitar). Initially the band served merely as a "diversionary tactic" during their pursuit of undergraduate degrees in biology. Upon hearing the results of the 2000 presidential election, the duo was inspired to take their project full time.

And their gamble is paying off! Because I'm Awesome is The Dollyrots sophomore release - and their first release on Joan Jett + Kenny Laguna's Blackheart Records.

Chris Black joins the two on drums on this recent and well release. Their signature mighty guitars, crashing drums, and sweetly defiant vocals, are taken to the next level with the recording magic of Jacques Wait (The Soviettes) and John Fields - who produced the band's debut release, Eat My Heart Out.

We knew back in 2004 there were great things ahead for The Dollyrots and we couldn't be happier for them!

Sassy Power Punks

Eat My Heart Out is the first full-length release from Los Angeles, CA based three-piece, The Dolly Rots. Their energetic, garage-punk songs feature heavy guitar (Luis Cabezas), relentless drums (Josh Valenti) and the good-girl going bad voice of Kelly Ogden (who also plays bass).

Kelly’s voice reminds us of The Waitresses' late Patty Donahue - damaged, angry at times, but forever maintaining an undertone of sassy and rebellious sexuality.

The Dollyrots single Kick Me To The Curb is getting terrestrial radio airplay around Los Angles, they’re been featured on numerous compilations, an independent film soundtrack, and have received great print and web press. If this first full-length release is any indication, this lively trio has a bright future ahead.
