Although the Bay Area rock band has only been together for 2 years, The May Fire draw a variety of compairsons - from Queens of the Stone Age to Yeah Yeah Yeah's and The Pixies. We're thrilled to have received their new EP, Plastic Army. The 5-song EP evidences the bands evolution toward their own strong and unique style.
The May Fire are four: Chilean-born Catty Tasso who fronts the band and plays guitar; Columbians El Pipe on drums and Nachito playing lead guitar; and the "token North American": Rob Gwin on Bass.
Together, they create catchy, pop and rock songs that work their way inside. Their sound is urgent, unprocessed and full of fire. We hear there are two additional e.p's planned for release in 2007. We're looking forward to hearing the new songs and the growth of their project.
